April 10, 2022 - Psalms 146:3, 5-6
“Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save. Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God. He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them— he remains faithful forever.” Psalms 146:3,5-6 NIV
Lord, we thank you so much for your faithfulness to us. You are so trustworthy. Forgive us for the times that we would rather put our trust in ourselves or other humans over you. Why would we ever think that we or another human could do a better job at saving us or being there for us? You are the Almighty God. You are all knowing and where wisdom originates. You can see the future and understand how the past, present, and future all work together. You love us completely and want us to succeed in all that we do and are. There is absolutely no reason that we should not trust you fully with all that we are. Would you please work on any areas of our lives that we are not fully trusting you with? Help us recognize it and learn to surrender it to you. Forgive us for not trusting you and thinking that we can handle life better than you could.
Lord, we want every part of who we are to be grounded in you. You are where our help from. You are our hope. We pray that this would be the reality in our lives. We declare the blessing over our lives that verse five says comes with setting you as our help and hope. We praise you that you are the maker of the earth, the heavens, the seas, and everything in them. If you can create and keep all those things in order, of course we can trust you with our issues. We put our trust in you. We worship you for your ability to save us. We praise you for your love, trustworthiness, and faithfulness. We praise you that you see our every need, problems, and desire. We praise you that you are always in control. You are so worthy of all our praise.
In Jesus name, amen.
