April 1, 2024 - Genesis 39:2-6a

“The Lord was with Joseph, so he succeeded in everything he did as he served in the home of his Egyptian master. Potiphar noticed this and realized that the Lord was with Joseph, giving him success in everything he did. This pleased Potiphar, so he soon made Joseph his personal attendant. He put him in charge of his entire household and everything he owned. From the day Joseph was put in charge of his master’s household and property, the Lord began to bless Potiphar’s household for Joseph’s sake. All his household affairs ran smoothly, and his crops and livestock flourished. So Potiphar gave Joseph complete administrative responsibility over everything he owned. With Joseph there, he didn’t worry about a thing—except what kind of food to eat!” Genesis 39:2-6a NLT

Lord, what an incredible blessing you put over Joseph’s life. It didn’t come without a high cost. But even as he was living through the “cost” we can see your blessings shining through. This verse says that you were with Joseph, giving him success in everything he did. Lord, we ask for you to be with us like you were with Joseph. Help us live our lives in a way that is pleasing to you like Joseph’s, even in our adversities. Even when things were completely unjust and not fair, he lived with integrity in a way that was honoring to you. He never chose the easy path even if the hard road to integrity would cost him greatly. He chose you.

Lord, we see how you blessed him because he chose you. Help us be as devoted to you as Joseph. Bless us like you blessed him. Let everything we touch be blessed. Let others recognize your wisdom and strategies in us. Bless those we work for because of how your blessings flow through us. Bless our households and let everything we have responsibility over be blessed by you. Help us live like Joseph lived and see your many blessings as a result.
